6 Great Reasons To Check Your Credit Report

6 Great Reasons To Check Your Credit Report 6 Great Reasons To Check Your Credit Report 6 Great Reasons To Check Your Credit ReportCant think of a good reason to order a free (we repeat: free) copy of your credit report? No worries, weve got six.Our world is filled with unsolved mysteries. What happened to Roanoke? Who built Stonehenge? How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop?But some information can be known and should be known. For example, the information in your credit report. And unlike those other mysteries, this one is pretty easy to solve.“It is important to check your credit report from all three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) at least once every 12 months,” urged Audrey Washington, founder and CEO of Fiercely Financial Coaching (@FiercelyFinance). “You can obtain a free copy of your credit history from AnnualCreditReport.com. This service was established by the federal government in response to identity theft.”There are a few other ways to get your credit report, but it’s important to be careful that yo u aren’t scammed. And if youre still not convinced, here are seven  reasons you should check your credit report!1. Because your credit score depends on it.Your credit score is a three-digit number determined by the information in your credit report. That number is very important since it will determine if you can get a loan and more.“Since everything from loan and credit card applications, interest rates, getting hired by a new employer, car and homeowner’s insurance premiums, apartment applications, utility deposits, and cell phone plan services are based to one extent or another on your credit rating, and since your credit rating is based 100 percent. on the information on your credit report, you want to make sure that the information on your credit report is both accurate and up-to-date,” advised Todd Christensen, education manager for  Money Fit by DRS, Inc. (@MoneyFitbyDRS).2. To correct errors. You know what would be really unfair? If the three major credit bureaus, who will track your credit-worthiness whether you ask them to or not, made frequent errors when compiling your credit report. Sadly, this unfair scenario we’ve just described is also our reality! That’s why it’s important to check your credit report for errors.“The last thing you want on your credit score is an error that goes unnoticed,” advised Kelan Kline of  The Savvy Couple  (@TheSavvyCouple). “Its important to check often and keep track of your credit score to prevent your score from dropping.”And what might those errors be?“Your credit report helps you identify errors and/or outdated claims that negatively affect your credit score,” explained Jory McEachern, Operations Manager at  ScoreShuttle (@scoreshuttle). “Such errors can contain minor name spelling errors or major collections that youve already paid off in previous years.”3. To spot identity theft. Some errors on your credit report are actual errors. Other errors are due to stolen identities.“The big gest concern when checking your credit report should be to ensure that no one is opening or using credit accounts in your name,” recommended Christensen. “Identity theft can cost thousands of dollars to correct and take a couple of years to work through, so the earlier you spot any such troubles, the better.”And you may not be the only one at risk.“Parents should also contact the three major credit bureaus on how they can check to see if anyone is using their childrens social security numbers for credit,” advised Washington.4. You’re applying for a job.A potential employer may perform a credit check on you, especially if the job you’re applying for is in the financial realm. You should know what’s on it before they do.“If you are in the job market and you suspect your employer will be running a credit check, prepare by taking a look,” suggested Nathalie Noisette, owner of  Credit Conversion (@credconversion).“You want to preempt any possible reason the employer will deny you the job. Some employers will keep you in the candidate pool if your credit is not stellar, but you offer an explanation as to why your credit isn’t in great shape.”5. You made or are making a big purchase. It’s always good to know your financial situation when you’re making a big purchase, but it’s particularly important if you’re going to be making a purchase that could require interest payments.“If you are considering a major purchase, you definitely want to check your credit report,” urged real estate professional Chantay Bridges. “Your score can affect your interest rate for a large number of years, especially on a purchase such as real estate or an automobile. You want to make certain everything is intact before you sign on the dotted line. In addition, you could be rejected based on something thats there, so you want to have a chance to clear it up ahead of time, especially lates, tardies, or delinquents that are not yours.”6. Because the possi bility exists, so why not take advantage of it?You get at least one free chance to check out your credit report each year. Why throw that away? And there are other services to consider as well.“Many credit card companies, credit score apps, and websites offer free credit score monitoring so taking advantage of them is a no brainer,” Kline outlined. “Keeping an eye on your credit score not only protects you but ensures you are moving in the right direction with improving your overall credit score.”Hopefully, that’s enough reasons to check your credit score. African Elephant Facts

The African elephant (Loxodonta africana and Loxodonta cyclotis) is the largest land animal on the planet. Found in sub-Saharan Africa, this majestic herbivore is known for its remarkable physical adaptations as well as its intelligence. Fast Facts: African Elephants Scientific Name: Loxodonta africana and Loxodonta cyclotisCommon Names:  African elephant: savannah elephant or bush elephant and forest elephantBasic Animal Group: MammalSize: 8–13 feet tall, length of 19–24 feetWeight: 6,000–13,000 poundsLifespan: 60–70 yearsDiet:  HerbivoreHabitat: Sub-Saharan AfricaPopulation: 415,000Conservation Status: Vulnerable Description There are two subspecies of African elephant: savanna or bush elephant (Loxodonta africana) and forest elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis). African bush elephants are lighter gray, larger, and their tusks curve outwards; the forest elephant is darker gray in color and has tusks that are straighter and point downward. Forest elephants make up about one-third to one-quarter of the total elephant population in Africa. Elephants have a number of adaptations that help them to survive. Flapping their large ears enables them to cool down in hot weather, and their large size deters predators. The elephants long trunk reaches food sources located in otherwise inaccessible places, and the trunks are also used in communication and vocalization. Their tusks, which are upper incisors that continue to grow throughout their lifetimes, can be used to strip vegetation and dig to obtain food. Habitat and Range African elephants are found throughout sub-Saharan Africa, where they typically live in plains, woodlands, and forests. They tend not to be territorial, and they roam large ranges through several habitats and across international borders. They are found in dense forests, open and closed savannas, grasslands, and in the deserts of Namibia and Mali. They range between the northern tropics to the southern temperate zones in Africa and are found at the oceans beaches and on mountain slopes and elevations everywhere in between. Elephants are habitat modifiers or ecological engineers that physically alter their environments affecting the resources and changing the ecosystems. They push over, debark, break branches and stems, and uproot trees, which causes changes in tree height, canopy cover, and species composition. Studies have shown that the changes generated by the elephants are actually quite beneficial to the ecosystem, creating an increase in total biomass (up to seven times the original), an increase in nitrogen in the content of new leaves, as well as an increase in habitat complexity and food availability. The net effect is a multilayered canopy and a continuum of leaf biomass supporting their own and other species.   Edwin Godinho / EyeEm  /  Getty Images Diet Both subspecies of African elephants are herbivores, and most of their diet (65 percent to 70 percent) consists of leaves and bark. They will also eat a wide variety of plants, including grass and fruit: Elephants are bulk feeders and require an enormous amount of food to survive, consuming an estimated 220–440 pounds of forage  daily. Access to a permanent source of water is critical—most elephants drink frequently, and they need to obtain water at least once every two days. Elephant mortality is quite high in drought-affected regions. Behavior Female African elephants form matriarchal groupings. The dominant female is the matriarch and the head of the grouping, and the rest of the group consists primarily of the females offspring. Elephants use low-frequency rumbling sounds to communicate within their groupings. In contrast, male African elephants are mostly solitary and nomadic. They temporarily associate with different matriarchal groups as they seek mating partners. Males assess each others physical prowess by play-fighting with one another. Male elephants behavior is linked to their musth period, which typically takes place during winter. During musth, male elephants secrete an oily substance called temporin from their temporal glands. Their testosterone levels are as much as six times higher than normal during this period. Elephants in musth can become aggressive and violent. The exact evolutionary cause for musth is not definitively known, though research suggests that it may be linked to the assertion and reorganization of dominance. Reproduction and Offspring Elephants are polyandrous and polygamous; mating happens year round, whenever females are in estrus. They give birth to one or rarely two live young about once every three years. Gestation periods are approximately 22 months long. Newborns weigh between 200 and 250 pounds each. They are weaned after 4 months although they may continue to take milk from the mothers as part of their diet for up to three years. Young elephants are tended by the mother and other females in the matriarchal grouping. They become fully independent at the age of eight. Female elephants reach sexual maturity at about 11 years of age; males at 20. The lifespan of an African elephant is typically between 60 and 70 years.   Patrick Robert - Corbis  /Getty Images Misconceptions Elephants are beloved creatures, but they arent always fully understood by humans. Misconception: Elephants drink water through their trunks. Truth: While elephants use their trunks in the drinking process, they dont drink through it. Instead, they use the trunk to scoop water into their mouths.Misconception: Elephants are afraid of mice. Truth: While elephants may be startled by the darting movement of mice, they have not been proven to have a specific fear of mice.Misconception: Elephants mourn their dead. Truth: Elephants demonstrate an interest in the remains of their dead, and their interactions with those remains often seem ritualistic and emotional. However, scientists have not yet determined the precise cause of this mourning process, nor have they determined the degree to which elephants understand death. Threats The main threats to the continued existence of elephants on our planet are poaching, habitat loss, and climate change. In addition to overall population loss, poaching removes a majority of bulls over the age of 30 and females over the age of 40. Animal researchers believe that the loss of older females is particularly acute, as it impacts the social networks of elephant herds. Older females are the repositories of ecological knowledge who teach calves where and how to find food and water. Although there is evidence that their social networks are restructured after the loss of the older females, orphaned calves tend to leave from their natal core groups and die alone. Poaching has decreased with the institution of international laws prohibiting them, but it does continue to be a threat to these animals. Conservation Status The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) classifies African elephants as vulnerable, while the ECOS Environmental Conservation Online System classifies them as threatened. According to the Great Elephant Census of 2016, there are approximately 350,000 African savanna elephants located in 30 countries. Between 2011 and 2013, more than 100,000 elephants were killed, mostly by poachers seeking their tusks for ivory. The African Wildlife Foundation estimates there are 415,000 African elephants in 37 countries, including both savanna and forest subspecies, and that 8 percent are killed by poachers annually. Why I Didn t Know About Our Communication Has Gone Down...

Jason It has been quite some time since I have sat down to write you an email. Honestly I didn’t think it would be necessary due to the fact you are home now. It’s not like we have to worry about you leaving for deployments or extended periods away from home. That said our communication has gone down the crapper and seriously needs work. Recently case in point is Kimberly Holland. February 2014 I advised you that her texts and photos were inappropriate. That a subordinate should not be sending her supervisor photos of date night outfits or swimsuit photos. Those discussions/texts regarding her personal life or marriage problems were not appropriate topics to discuss with her supervisor. This time last year again was the exact same topic. Now we have the recent nude photos and sexting/ flirting. I am hurt, disappointed, angry, upset and mad as hell. I can not continue to pretend that this does not bother me. We need to seriously sit down and discuss this issue that is Kimberly Holland. We had the same issue twice with Susie in 2009 and 2010 both times in August either right before or after your Birthday. I’m seeing a pattern and it is always around your Birthday. Finding out you got rated 70% for PTSD was shocking. I honestly didn’t think it was that bad so I started researching. I’m even on a PTSD page on facebook. It was a relief to know that we are not the only family that has the same issues. Upon reading about PTSD and the effects it has on families and

Adolescent Moral Development Free Essays

Morality can be defined as the distinction between what is right and wrong or what is good and bad. Although, moral reasoning depends on culture which makes it difficult to define. Most people don’t look at where these principles are coming from or what guides one through moral development. We will write a custom essay sample on Adolescent Moral Development or any similar topic only for you Order Now As children grow and learn, usually from care takers and people who inspire their every need, their morality changes based on several levels. Although researching of moral development goes as far back as Socrates, there are two psychologists that studied morality in depth and they are Lawrence Kohlberg and Jean Piaget. Jean Piaget was a cognitive developmental psychologists spending most of his time working with children and adolescents, including his own. Although, Piaget’s observation of moral development wasn’t in depth like Kohlberg, he allowed for a basic understanding. He believed that moral development occurred in stages. Piaget strongly believed in education and thought interaction in a education setting allowed children maximum potential in cognitive development. Piaget believed in many things, but when it came to moral development there were only two basic principles. The first principle was that children develop moral ideas in stages and could not skip stages, although movement from one stage to the other could vary in length. Lastly he believed that children create their own perception of their world, including whether their actions enforce what is morally right or wrong. â€Å"Piaget’s ideas of moral realism and morality of cooperation play a role in Kohlberg’s theory. Children in Piaget’s stage of moral realism believe that rules are absolute and can’t be changed. Punishment should be determined by how much damage is done, and the intention of the child is not taken into account. For example, a child operating in the stage of moral realism would believe that a child who accidentally breaks three cups should be punished more than a child who breaks one cup on purpose. Eventually, both the damage done and the intention of the offender in a given moral dilemma are considered in this stage of moral development. † Lawrence Kohlberg studied moral development in depth and that is what he is most commonly known for. Although his basic ideas and principles originated from the ideas of Piaget, Kohlberg did an in depth study of the basics of morality and how a child or adolescents move from one stage to the next. Kolberg had developed six stages of moral development. All of the stages were grouped into three levels of sub categories. Stages one and two are pre-conventional judgment and moral development. Stages three and four are conventional judgment. Lastly, stages are five and six are post conventional. When children are born Kolberg believes that they have no morals and as they grow and learn, morals begin to form. The pre-conventional level is where morality begins. This is the basis of moral judgment. The moral values here in this stage are external. Stage one is based on obedience and punishment. If a child is punished they will try and avoid the situation knowing that they will be punished so that act is known as wrong to the children. Stage two is a slightly more complex stage. Children are now egocentric and are able to exchange thoughts and ideas. Both male and females hold certain roles and have different beliefs. The conventional level â€Å"Those who reason in a conventional way judge the morality of actions by comparing them to society’s views and expectations. Conventional morality is characterized by an acceptance of society’s conventions concerning right and wrong. At this level an individual obeys rules and follows society’s norms even when there are no consequences for obedience or disobedience. Adherence to rules and conventions is somewhat rigid, however, and a rule’s appropriateness or fairness is seldom questioned â€Å". Stage three is where children are labeled. In this stage children are labeled either good or bad. Children try and please others for acceptance and approval. For example, during the Christmas holiday season children try their hardest to be good so Santa will come and bring them Christmas presents. Where as if they are bad they will receive coal. Stage four is where authority comes in and plays a highly important role. Children learn that authority figures are the ones who control and maintain order. Also they try and live up to others expectations instead of their own. The post conventional level is where moral values allow adolescents and adults to distinguish the difference between societies view of right and wrong and the views of their individual views. Most people live by these views of right and wrong. In stage five the world is known as being able to hold their own opinions and views. Stage six is using your own opinions and applying them. For instance choosing to use logic and consistency or the feeling of your own ethics to make understandable and logical decisions. While a child grows the formation of morality is highly important. Alcoholics, drug addicts and murderers might suffer from disturbed moral thoughts which might cause an error in their beliefs of right and wrong. For instance, a murderer who grew up in an abusive home atmosphere might think it is okay to be abusive and hurt other people. So therefore there morality was culture based and was encouraged based on the home life sustained. The same for alcoholics and drug addicts. Although, not all people who come from these types of dysfunctional families suffer and act upon there cultural up bringing some may. How to cite Adolescent Moral Development, Papers

Addressing Gender

Gender refers to the distinction between males and females which are apparent in the society. More often than not, men are usually perceived as playing a dominant role in the society while women are viewed as lesser beings. For instance, just like many other societies around the world, in America, boys and girls are socialized in different ways.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Addressing Gender-based Issues at the Work Place specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More During their childhood, they receive several socialization messages on how they should behave in order to succeed in life. These messages vary depending on their gender. For example, when frustrated, most girls tend to cry while the boys tend to act it out. This kind of socialization flows over to the adults in their places of work. In order to successfully supervise across the gender divide in the work place, the supervisors in any organization should put the gender disparities into consideration. They should endeavor to understand individual employees depending on their socialization. Lack of this understanding may impede on the success of most women at their places of work, while both males and females may go through preventable stress. Nevertheless, it is the duty of all employees to ensure a working environment that is free from gender-based discrimination. However, it is fundamental for the supervisors to receive some form of training so as to effectively handle arising gender issues in the work place. The training should focus on how to appreciate the value of gender diversity within the workplace. This kind of training is vital as supervisors are the people who are held responsible for correcting any gender-related issues that they notice or issuers that are brought to their attention (Jonson, 2011). The supervisors must be well equipped with federal, state and local employment regulations that govern gender diversity. As a matte r of fact, the USDA as well as the REE agencies are armed with civil right policies that forbid unlawful gender-based prejudice in the work place. Moreover, the Griggs, V. Duke case stipulates that, it is illegal for an employer to isolate, limit, categorize the workforce, deny them employment opportunities or unfavorably affect their status on the basis of their gender differences. The act advocates for the use of competently created capability test, as long as the tests are not planned or intended to show favoritism to the employees (U.S. Supreme Court, 1971).Advertising Looking for essay on business economics? The employees should be encouraged to form workplace affinity associations as well as In-house Affinity associations that enhance communication among career-minded individuals regardless of their gender. The supervisors should facilitate the formation of these associations depending on the height of interest and employee expertise. The supervisors should also train the employees on employment laws that forbid gender bias in the workplace. Such laws include the Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Equal Pay Act of 1963. Moreover, they should also be good role models and offer supervisory leadership demonstrating loyalty to just employment practices (United States Senate, 2009). In addition, the supervisors should enhance objective, sincere and courteous, communication within the workplace. This is because several gender-related issues in any organization are as a result of poor communication and misunderstanding. The supervisors should also constantly review the standard of performance in the workplace in order t o establish whether there are any prejudices such as assigning non-conventional duties to a particular gender. This will also help to check any hurdles that may hinder the achievement of professional goals (Jonson, 2011). In conclusion, it is important to appreciate the value of gender diversity within the workplace. Proper communication and understanding in the work place are vital ingredients for productivity in any organization. These values can lead to effective teamwork, improved sales, fulfilled customers, increased job fulfillment, increased harmony among the employees lower stress levels and reduced sexual harassment in the workplace (Jonson, 2011). The Adjective is Immune

The Adjective is Immune The Adjective is â€Å"Immune† The Adjective is â€Å"Immune† By Maeve Maddox I recently saw the word â€Å"immuned† used as an adjective in place of immune. A web search shows that this nonstandard use is proliferating. Am I Immuned to Herpes Muslims immuned from swine flu symptoms Breast cancer awareness month 2009: Men are not immuned How can I be immuned to getting strep? My husband is in the hospital, he does drugs, lowered immuned system,? Merriam-Webster provides an entry for â€Å"immuned† as an adjective, with the notation â€Å"used chiefly of domestic animals† It does not, however, have an entry for a verb that might have produced the form â€Å"immuned.† So far the unfortunate coinage has not found its way into the pages of the OED. The adjective immune is a back formation of the noun immunity. immunity (late 14th century): a legal term meaning â€Å"exempt from service or obligation† immune (mid-15th century): a legal term meaning â€Å"free; exempt.† The verb to immunize and the noun immunization came into the language along with the improved medical technique in the 19th century. immunize:   To make (an organism) immune to a pathogen, disease, or antigen; esp. to administer a vaccine, antiserum, antigen, etc. immunization:   Med. Reward, as opposed to punishment, is the main point of focus. They believe that when an employee is rewarded for a job well-done, they are likely to work harder to get even higher rewards (O’Connell 2014). Punishments on the other hand are not always taken positively by the victims, which affects their general performance. The controls put in place are related to current strategies. Aspects such as; the reputation communicated to the stakeholders and customers, what employees say about the company and what they tell new customers about the company. Gatsby vs. Gatsby; novel vs. film Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

Gatsby vs. Gatsby; novel vs. film - Essay Example One time Nick gets an invitation to one of the many parties where he gets to meet Gatsby and they recognize each other, having served in the First World War together. Gatsby’s aim of hosting the parties is to attract the beautiful Daisy. He even gets to ask Nick to organize an â€Å"accidental meeting† so they re-unite; a plan that finally succeeds. Things take a different twist when Daisy’s husband, who is also in an extramarital affair, becomes suspicious of their affair. After a night drive that kills Tom’s mistress, Tom goes hunting for, and shoots Gatsby then himself. Nick sets up a silent burial for Gatsby then returns to his initial home. Decades later in 2013, Baz Luhrmann directed a film, in the same name, featuring famous stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio. The Great Gatsby film was successful almost instantly that it won awards in its first year. This essay will compare the film and novel in detail and evaluate their representation on the theme of the human condition of always yearning for better or higher positions. The novel did not rise to fame immediately, it was published, but after the author died; it was integrated into the high school English literature curriculum where its popularity began. The popularity is attributed to its close relation to real life events that overly engage the readers in that it portrays themes with both emotional and moral significances which are considered universal human attributes. What this means is that in reading the book, one always learns something more with regards to what being human entails. In the novel, the main theme portrayed revolves around constant and insatiable human longing which is an inevitable part of human beings. The evidence in the Great Gatsby is seen in the characters like Gatsby, who is a millionaire, but still feels unsatisfied as long as he does not have Daisy. These and other attributes of human beings are brought out using different styles in the novel as this text will discuss. In

Impact Of External Influences on Consumer-Decision Making

Impact Of External Influences on Consumer-Decision Making Consumer behaviour is a steady ambiguity and even though there has been some achievements in planning consumers behaviours, sometimes we just dont know how things going on and how some factors drives one consumer may not drive another. Sometimes Organisations took corrective measures for consumers motivations and sometimes they do not. Which have a real impact on the financial success of the organisation . The target of this report is to answer the following critical factors: 1. Impact of the external variables which are used by marketers during the various stages of the consumer decision-making process . 2. Evaluation of a specific consumer behavioural theory or model for the understanding of the consumers and the implementation of the marketing strategy for the organisation. Consumers are faced with the need to make decisions about products and services all the time. Some of them are very important and entail great effort, while others are made more or less automatically. Perspectives on decision-making range from a focus on habits, age, income, personality, level of education and tasks. Task 1 Impact Of External Influences At Various Stages Of The Consumer-Decision Making Used By Marketers Introduction In this era of rivalry, indulgent the consumer is very important for marketers. Consumer desires and preferences are constantly varying, given the changes in factors like their demographics and lifestyles. These changes can bring great business opportunities for attentive marketers and threats for marketers who fail to become accustomed. Consumers obtain, devour, consume and dispose off the products and services created by organizations. They went through a number of cognitive and behavioural processes whilst making their purchases and spending on decisions. This information is also vital to make a variety of business decisions associated with product development, packaging, pricing, distribution, promotions, communication, etc. According to Solomon, et al., (2010) consumer decision making is a central part of consumer behaviour. Typically the buyer decision process takes place in five stages. These stages are essential for a consumer in making purchases on a conscious or a subconscious level. Consumer Behaviour helps to comprehend the external variables like reference groups, family, social class, and, culture, and their influence on consumer decision-making process. Consumers are faced with many external influences, including an individuals culture, subculture, household structure, and groups that he associates with. Marketers and business owners call these external influences because the source of the influence comes from outside the person rather than from inside. Need/Problem Recognition: According to Solomon. M, Problem recognition occurs whenever the consumers sees a significant differences between the current situations and some desired or ideal state. During this stage marketers have to create need by using the different external variables. Example: Marketers are using advertisement as in Kelloggs advertisement marketers focusing on the girls by showing an female athlete to be slim and smart. So marketers using external variables of sub-culture (gender) and opinion leader for developing a need by solving their problem of getting smart. Information Search According to Solomon. M, it is the process by which consumer surveys their environment for suitable data to make a realistic decisions. Different information sources available by using internal and external search. But according to marketers point of view, external variables such as family friends opinion leaders, reference group and culture etc Example: Pharmaceutical organizations like GSK uses consultants or top level medical professionals (opinion leaders, reference group) for their products by arranging seminars, meetings and TV shows to give information about their products in particular disease the rest of their followers agreed . Because opinion leaders or reference group have adopted them after the completing all information search. Evaluation Of Alternatives According to Solomon. M, it is the stage in which a choice must be made by the available alternatives. The product alternatives a person considered comprise their evoked set. Members usually share some features of evoked set. Marketers always like their products in evoked set of consumers.According to surveys consumers often include a small number of product in their evoked set. Example: Coca cola is using Santa Clause as brand ambassador in UK. In Christmas days, marketing of coke revolves around the Santa Clause because of their cultural influence as an alternative against the different competitors especially Pepsi. Consumers evaluate the product when they go for alternatives but after the strong marketing influence for their evoked set as well they go for Coke as the main drink. Product Choice/Purchase According to Solomon. M, after the evaluation of alternatives, decision rules guiding choice can range from very simple and quick strategy to complicated processes requiring much attention and cognitive processing. Marketers play a role in educating consumers about which criteria should be used and for this purpose they use external variables for consumer decision making. Example: Marketers use friends and family members and reference group as external variables for their promotions. Like mobile phone companies i.e. Three in UK use this tool as their marketing policy and offer their loyal customers different opportunities by referring new consumers and give them discounts as well. Post-Purchase Behaviour According to Solomon. M, post-purchase behaviour involves all the consumers activities and the experiences that follow the purchase. Satisfaction is important after purchase because, usually it cost more to attract new consumer than to retain an existing. Marketers can use external variables to improve the consumers post purchase decisions to maintain their loyalty. Companies use guarantee, return policy and after sales services for the customer satisfaction. For example in UK different online and high street retail companies have all the customer satisfaction programmes to maintain their customer loyal to them in all circumstances. Like Tesco, Asda, Amazone, etc. Conclusion In the above report, I discussed all the five stages of consumer decision making in the light of external variables for marketing perspective. As consumer behaviour is affected by different external variables like culture, sub-culture, friends and family, reference group, demographics, opinion leaders and economical environment. Marketers develop different strategies to influence consumers and try to evoke them for their decision making to buy a specific products or services. Parents of Pre-term Infants Essay -- social workers, parental stress,

Article Review One The first article, Parents of Pre-term Infants Two Months after Discharge from the Hospital: Are They Still at (Parental) Risk? (Olshtain-Mann, O. & Auslander, G. K , 2008), describes a study in Israel that was designed to gain further understanding of † the emotional state and functioning of parents of pre-term infants, after an initial period of adjustment following the infants’ discharge from a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)†. Specifically, this study compared the stress levels of parents and self-perceptions of competence as parents among mothers and fathers, two months after discharge of their babies from the hospital. The study compared parents of pre-term babies with parents of full-term babies. A target group of 80 pairs of parents of pre-term babies and a non-matched comparison group of 80 pairs of parents of full-term babies were interviewed for the study. Respondents were selected as follows: All couples (both mothers and fathers) in both groups were Hebrew speaking. The target group had pre-term infants who were hospitalized in the NICU of any of three hospitals in Jerusalem during 2001-2002. These premature babies weighed less than 3.85 pounds and were born in the 36th week or earlier. All were treated in the NICU for one week or more. According to the article, exclusions included parents of children who were not expected to survive or those who had congenital abnormalities. Parents of the full-term babies had infants who were born in the same time period, and in the same hospitals, as the target group. All babies in both groups were singletons. The interviews were conducted by social workers and followed a specific protocol. A further questionnaire was completed by both mothers and fa... ...e employed to develop programs that will offer support to the new parents of higher risk children. American Has Too Many Malls Essay

Many traditional brick-and-mortar retailers are being threatened with â€Å"economic destruction† by their online competition. I’ve had the opportunity to spend some time looking at this issue, and I believe we’re seeing clear signs that the e-commerce revolution is seriously impacting commercial real estate and will continue to do so. Online retailers are relentlessly acquiring success in many retail categories. As a result, many offline businesses are fighting to survive for their economic life. A number of physical retailers have already succumbed to online competition including Circuit City, Borders, CompUSA, Tower Records and Blockbuster. Many other physical businesses are also showing signs of serious economic distress. While many of these large businesses collapsed due to their inability to compete online, The shopping mall is also in danger from the â€Å"online shopping revolution. † Many malls are closing stores by the thousands, and there are few large physical chains opening stores to take their place. The recession in 2008 was the catalyst for bringing down many of these businesses, but competition from online retailers continued the financial difficulties for many offline retailers. The mall business isn’t economically healthy either. Most professionals understand that profound changes are afoot. Don Wood, CEO of federal realty investment trust, says â€Å"there is too much retail supply in this country. † The wall street journal reports: green street advisor (forecasts) that 10 percent of the roughly 1,000 large malls in the U. S. will fail within the next 10 years †¦. That’s a conservative estimate. Many mall CEOs predict the failure rate will be higher. I agree with the above perspectives. A report from Co-Star observes that there are more than 200 malls that have vacancy rates of 35 percent or higher. This is a â€Å"clear marker for shopping center distress. † In short, These malls are becoming ghost towns. They are not economically successful now and will only get less so as online business continues to steal retail sales from physical stores. Hundreds of malls will soon need to be repurposed or demolished. Strong malls will stay successful for a while since retailers are willing to pay for foot traffic and customers, but even they stand in the path of the shift of retail spending from offline to online. However, despite the decline of physical commerce, there has been a huge rise in online commerce. If I were thinking of starting a new retail brand right now, I would unquestionably start it online. many very talented entrepreneurs are doing just this. I personally shop at Bonobos for pants, J. Hilburn for sweaters, Ledbury for shirts and Warby Parker for eyeglasses. In the past, these retailers have started in the mall but they now are starting online. This is a trend that will undoubtedly continue. There will clearly be fewer new offline retailers to take the space vacated by the disappearing brick-and-mortar chains. This puts further pressure on malls to try and make money. While doing research for this article, I came across a fascinating website called deadmalls. com. it is a site that chronicles the stories of hundreds of already or soon-to-be dead malls. Unfortunately for mall owners and people who work inside them, the content on deadmalls. com is about to expand substantially. There just are too many malls in America, and this will only get worse.

To What Extent Are Our Global Consumption Patterns Harming...

The industrial revolution, around 300 years ago, has triggered the ongoing advancement of our planet and our lives concerning our consumption. We have gone a long way throughout history which has led us to a large improvement to our planet. However, this change isn’t perfect. Although it may damage the environment and our planet, our global consumption patterns are benefiting people by giving us tools that increase what we can do, and our consumption is even more beneficial because of the creation of globalization which has developed our world economy. Our increased consumption of goods is severely damaging our planet’s environment in ways that may tamper its usefulness and comfort for the future. When goods and products are created, several of Earth’s limited resources are spent. Trees are cut to create paper, mountains are blown up and metals are mined from the Earth to create products such as computers that need these metals, clean water is used up to create d rinks such as water bottles, and as a result, resources are constantly taken out of the Earth. These resources are limited because we are consuming them much faster than they can be restored. (Story of Stuff Video). Additionally, the process of creating goods requires energy which most businesses and countries use fossil fuels to generate. There are many methods of extracting oil form the Earth, and all of these methods release a large amount of greenhouse gases into our atmosphere.
